DUBAI: Arab designers are taking over the red carpets in Hollywood with jaw-dropping designs, the latest being famed Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab.
This week, American actress Zoey Deutch had a standout fashion moment at the premiere of Hulu’s dark comedy “Not Okay” in New York.
The 27-year-old star posed on the red carpet in a thigh-high blue dress from the designer’s Fall 2022 ready-to-wear collection that featured voluminous ruffled sleeves and a plunging neckline.
Deutch, whose hair was in a slicked up bun, chose heels from Spanish brand Manolo Blahnik that matched the color of her dress.
She opted for simple jewelry from the American luxury brand Tiffany & Co.
In the film, which premiered on Friday, Deutch stars alongside American actor Dylan O’Brien, who wore a bright pink suit to the event at the Angelika Film Center.
The film tells the story of an ambitious young influencer, Danni Sanders, played by Deutch, who wants to win friends, followers and fame. She fakes a trip to Paris to get the attention of her colleague, played by Dylan O’Brien. Sanders is caught in the lie when a deadly attack hits the French town during her supposed trip.
“Not Okay”, directed by young American filmmaker Quinn Shephard, also stars actors Nadia Alexander, Mia Isaac, Karan Soni and Sarah Yarkin.
It’s not the first time that Deutch has stolen the show in an Elie Saab dress.
In 2018, the ‘Vampire Academy’ actress turned heads in a lilac dress at the movie industry’s biggest night, the Oscars.
The ripped and beaded dress has been given an edge that repels wraps due to its sheer skirt.
Deutch rose to fame starring in films such as “Everybody Wants Some!!”, “Before I Fall”, “The Politician”, and “Set It Up”.
Earlier this week, American singer and actress Sofia Carson also sported a dark purple dress from Saab at the premiere of her new movie ‘Purple Hearts’.
The dress, from the designer’s Fall 2022 collection, featured a tightly pleated purple skirt, as well as a flower-embellished bodice with a high collar in black.
