Cranston-based Luca + Danni is a fast-growing Rhode Island success story. The company has managed to merge old-school Rhode Island jewelry making with great designs and a smart internet strategy.

Today, the company is working to provide tens of thousands of dollars in support to frontline humanitarian workers in Ukraine.

“We’re donating 50% of the proceeds from our yellow sunflower bracelet. It’s one of our favorite designs and we’re donating 50% of the proceeds for the sunflower piece and our goal is really to have the biggest impact possible and we appreciated having the opportunity to play our small part in what is happening in the world,” said Fred Magnanimi, the founder.

To date, Luca + Danni has raised approximately $35,000. He said he was hoping to come up with $45,000 or $50,000.

Magnimi said, “So we took that [fundraising idea] and we ran with it – we partnered with an agency in Cambridge, MA called Sunflower Peace. And what I love about them is that they give backpacks full of medical aid and humanitarian packages to frontline workers in Ukraine, so it has an immediate impact.”

“The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and now more than ever it represents solidarity + strength. With the tragic events happening in our world, we are here to fully support Ukraine and believe in the power of peace. This hopeful flower is finished with yellow and brown enamel and dazzling gold accents,” the company writes in its effort to support the initiative.

We acquire and distribute first aid backpacks, medicines, medical instruments and other survival aids that save hundreds of lives. These supplies meant the world to those affected by violence when we launched our first fundraiser in 2015, and they mean the world to all Ukrainians now. »

The Sunflower of Peace Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Boston, USA (EIN: 47-2620675).
